21st century skills are so important for students to learn in order to be prepared for this world! We can build these skills in my class through the use of Chromebooks. I am proposing the addition of 5 Chromebooks to my first grade classroom to assist us in building these technical and digital literacy skills! Chromebooks would be utilized daily in all subjects including math, science, reading, writing, and social studies! We use these devices to research animals and insects for in depth and multi-genre writing projects! Students also use Chromebooks to collaborate and share their work in a digital space by creating videos or Slides presentations showcasing their work. Our class would improve keyboarding skills and benefit from the improved comfort with technology, with a decrease in technology anxiety during standardized testing. By donating to our classroom project, you are assisting in building a student's digital knowledge, self confidence, collaboration skills, and academic prowess! My students would benefit in every aspect from the addition of Chromebooks thanks to your generosity! I have seen the excitement from students when given the choice to display their knowledge on the technology platform. I am so excited to see the students' thirst for more knowledge grow when the world of information is at their fingertips!
