A large, diverse classroom library is crucial for a strong classroom community. A classroom library gives students a chance to dive into diverse texts that they may have never been able to read on their own, and also gives students experiences that they may never have had. My second grade students will have a variety of texts at all reading levels, ensuring that all students can grow and have options. Not only will they be reading these texts, but they will be making connections, talking about their reading, incorporating writing, and having FUN with literacy! I cannot wait to use my new classroom library to instill confidence and a love for reading in my second graders that will last a lifetime.
