Our school district has been working hard to meet the needs of all readers and writers in order to provide them with a personalized educational experience. We have recently adopted new curriculum that emphasizes the importance of reading conferences to meet the diverse needs of our learners. Our hope is to engage in a collaborative book study using Jennifer Serravallo's Reading Conferences. Serravallo believes that conferring is where the magic happens, allowing for purposeful, responsive instruction. This book will allow us to study assessment, goal setting, strategy lessons, and more. As teachers engage in this book study, the professional learning will impact our students to be lifelong literacy learners.
