These novels will give my students access to characters and issues that are relevant to their lives. When given an opportunity to read books that they can connect to, my students are hungry to read more. There is so much to gain from reading and discussing with peers, and these materials will give my students that chance. Students will be able to choose the book they would like to read, set a reading schedule with others reading the same title, and meet frequently to discuss the novel and literary elements. I was able to do one book club rotation this year and the growth of my students was amazing. This project will enable me to do at least three more rotations throughout the year.
