Kindergarten students work hard in the morning, on learning all the skills we need in order to read and write words. The Pre K students learn about letters and retelling stories. They learn how to write their names. They work cooperatively in centers before they go to lunch and fill their stomachs. Now, it is time to rest and refuel with rest time. We turn out the lights and let them watch a video or just listen to music of around thirty-five minutes for kindergarten and fifty minutes for Pre K. Then kindergarten goes to PE. Last, we have about an hour for math. They can all think better when rested. Most of our students can't afford a nap mat, even the cheapest one. This way with these cots, no one is left out or has to rest on the cold floor.
