The use of a graphing calculator is so critical in today's high school mathematics classes. Every unit has a graphing component and while traditional skills are covered, time constraints and convenience are the way of today's world thus graphing calculators to the rescue. As we end each unit we investigate how equations look graphically. We compare different equations to each other and a colored graph really helps in this area. Students who struggle with the characteristics of the equation suddenly are able to make connections with a calculator since they can then see what is being discussed. Additionally, I teach all my grade levels personal finance topics and seeing the different investment options graphed or health care costs graphed really help them understand how to make more informed choices in the future. Students can compare banks, renting options, finance option, and a multitude of other financial applications that make decision making easier and the students are more financially aware than today's current young adults. Your donation will help my students be more prepared academically for college, for career training, and for personal financial decisions as they grow into productive young adults that are the future of our nation and the world!
