These items will greatly enhance the environment that I imagined in the classroom. As I transition into more "choice" opportunities, I want the students to be relaxed in order for their creative juices to flow. It is not my job to keep our future doctors, mechanics, designers and inventors in a box. It is my job to give them the wisdom and skills that will allow them to find solutions that will not always look like the child's next to them. They are learning to take control of their knowledge and be inventive. Student A might be great at brainstorming with Student B, while student C needs a quiet corner to silently think it through. Student A and B might be on their laptop desk on the floor designing a new room as they apply the geometry skills they have learned. At the same time Student C can be measuring and comparing the worms for the soil in the garden the class planted for science as she is on the carpet with a clipboard. All students need the chance to feel free to explore the gift in them.
