Fiction and non-fiction book sets allow students to thrive in a print-rich environment that each classroom library strives to create. These books increase excitement around read-aloud time, in guided-reading groups, and shared reading. We are a balanced literacy classroom and an integral part depends on a variety of formats: wordless books, big books, picture books, chapter books, graphic novels, series books, hardcover books, and paperbacks. With the classroom library, students will have plenty of books on their independent reading levels. Students have shown growth in reading levels because they can access books above or below their level and find books of interest to them.
