The use of sensory toys and equipment in the classroom can help support students and ensure their comfort. My students love to work for sensory toys and use them as a calm down technique when overwhelmed or upset. The sand feels good on their hands and the liquid blocks are squishy and fun to step on. The games are a way of getting my students to socially interact with other peers and adults. A lot of my sensory fun activities and toys are worn and torn and need to be replaced. “Some people with autism may not be able to speak or answer to their name, but they can still hear your words and feel your kindness.”This will help some amazing and grateful students.
