This project will empower students with a voice and a choice, through STEAM Time in our classroom. On a daily basis, students will self-select interactive STEAM activities of their choice. Students will imagine, explore, plan, create, and make new discoveries using these critical learning tools. Our Crew is Full STEAM Ahead will make a difference in our classroom by providing hands-on learning experiences. The lessons learned as a result of STEAM Time will serve as an anchor for learning in all areas. My hope is for this crew to gain problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills when challenges are encountered. In addition, students will develop the grit necessary to stick with a task, especially when disappointments and unexpected events arise. Providing students with STEAM learning opportunities of their choice will foster life-long learning skills.
