My district has a social-emotional learning initiative in place. We have started with community circles and I have seen so much growth in my students. It is my hope that by continuing to do this, it will foster the growth of kindness, acceptance, and self-regulation among my students. I am here to create a safe and welcoming environment for all students in my room. Students in my class come from diverse backgrounds and have many social-emotional and educational needs. My students will benefit from having a cool down area in the classroom where many of these items will be used. It is important for students to have a safe place to reflect when they are feeling overwhelmed.
