"Play is the highest form of research," according to Albert Einstein. The materials purchased with this grant will help to create two different opportunities in my library to allow the children to learn through play. The base plates will help to create a Lego wall. This will allow children to showcase their creativity, make mistakes, and learn from them as they build their understanding of creating strong structures. Giant Legos provide unique building experiences for the smallest and tallest of learners! Not only are they a wonderful tool for testing the stability of larger structural designs, but they create mazes and arenas for learning how to code our robots. We are excited to have received a grant from the district for some Spheros and two Dash n Dots, but we need a contained space to learn how to code them. The giant Legos make the best structures to support this learning.
