These books and magazines will give my students up to date reading materials that will be interesting and still challenge them to increase their reading ability. These materials prompt great discussions that make students think about their opinion and learn to support their opinions and answers with evidence from the text. After reading real world informational materials, students often take action on the issues through a project that helps school wide. After reading one article about dog safety, students made posters with reminders and tips to stay safe around dogs. These posters were hung up around the school to let the rest of the students know how to stay safe around dogs.
