After teaching a lesson on what good readers do when they are learning to read, I set my 5 and 6 year olds off to choose a book and read. Over the past few years, I sit back and watch with amazement the perseverance and energy that they put into reading. The only problem is that they are sitting in their plastic, upright chairs, leaning on a hard, uncomfortable table. This is not real life. When adults want to fully enjoy books for what they are worth, they cozy up in a fun place and immerse themselves in a book. I want that same ownership and experience for the 5 and 6 year olds in my classroom. The products I have chosen will enhance their reading experience. I believe it will improve their focus and motivation.

About my class
