Our preschool classroom has a great space for displaying tools and materials to build the children's knowledge of the world around them, however due to teacher turn over and funding concerns we have little to put on the shelves to engage them. Magnets, magnifying glasses and a view finder will get even the most reluctant of investigator into the science center! The light cube is a great way to get children out of the "fun" parts of the classroom and start engaging with the foundations of our scientific process. We have looked for ways to build learning opportunities with the limited items we have but now are looking to increase our tools for learning.
