I am a second year 7th grade math teacher. Many of my students are underprivileged and come form diverse backgrounds. Most of my students are 3 to 4 grade levels behind, which makes math very difficult and uncomfortable for them. I want to make math more enjoyable and as comfortable to them as it is to me. That's why I'm proposing to make our classroom a flexible seating arrangement. The flexible seating will provide them with a more relaxing, engaging classroom, and a choice of learning space. i am hopeful that this will make my students more invested in their own learning.
