Board games will be used prior to the school bell. Serving as an incentive for students to arrive early and practice basic skills. Students will be given daily exposure to math facts in a competitive format. While competing with peers to create mathematical equations, they will be memorizing math facts. Reading board games will also be available prior to school bell, but will primarily be used during guided reading groups. students will work in cooperative groups to read and answer questions independently or with a teacher. Basic skills build the foundation and allow understanding of higher-order thinking.
