Flexible seating is a great way to get students involved in a learning process while accommodating different types of learners, especially those that are bodily kinesthetic. Although my students enjoy reading, the space in the classroom used for storing books is just that-- an uninviting center that lacks appeal. But, let's transform that together! With this furniture, students could have a comfortable corner in the room to dive into a book, pour out their thoughts on paper, or deescalate and recenter. The foam mat would be used as the base for the reading and reflective corners, while the child-friendly furniture would create an inviting classroom that allows the children to have optimal reading experiences. The dry-erase boards would allow students to follow along as the teacher models spelling and arithmetic lessons, while the pocket holders would allow their work to be displayed easily on the bulletin board.
