iPads are integral and necessary tools that need to be present in my classroom for my students now and future students to come. Without consistent access to technology, my students can't be 21st-century learners. I believe that 2nd-grade students should not be hindered due to lack of funds and exposure, but instead deserve to explore and learn the same way other students have access to. Having at least 6 iPads in the classroom will allow my students to at least share iPads and collaborate with each other to learn through technology on a daily basis- makes my teacher heart so happy!
Students will use the students daily in literacy, math, and science. There are many amazing free websites that I would like to use such as code.org, seesaw, ReadyGen and Envisions curriculum online, but can't due to the lack of physical technology. Students will benefit from getting iPads because they will be able to gain more knowledge on a wider variety of topics and be able to showcase more talents through the use of iPads. The students will be able to learn through visual and kinetic learning and allows my special education student more apps for learning on the individual level and needs.
