The Forensic Science course at my school is the most popular elective science. Our course enrollment has doubled in the last two years. The increased enrollment means we need more supplies to effectively teach the course. UV Led flashlights are essential tools for my Forensic Science classroom. These UV Led flashlights are used throughout the year in various units, including Trace Evidence, Serology, and Latent Fingerprinting. These UV Led flashlights would greatly increase student understanding because it makes the learning come to life. With these flashlights trace evidence, such as hair and fibers, can be viewed with these flashlights which can then be collected for identification and processing. Students are able to visualize serological fluids, such as blood and urine, in order to presumptively determine fluid type and location in a crime scene. During latent fingerprinting, fluorescent magnetic fingerprint powders can be used to find and pull latent fingerprints off of skin and other hard-surfaced objects.
