These books will create opportunities for exposure to print-rich material inside my classroom that most of my students wouldn't see otherwise. Most of my students struggle with reading. It's not fun for them. I want to create a safe, comfortable space to foster a love for reading. My classroom library is a safe space for students to fully enjoy, while creating fun and new learning experiences. In this space, I read to them on the carpet, they read together, and they read independently! Every book is treasured and treated with the utmost love and care. I've chosen each book with the needs of my students in mind. I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. My students will be able to choose books which will help them continue to enjoy independent and collective reading time. I’m also requesting a storage cart for the books and some flexible seats for my students.
