The items I have chosen have always been a part of my wish list created for the numerous students who have walked through my room. Items such as the soft lights, the tall table, stools, gaming chairs, bean bags and rug will make my students feel relaxed and comfortable as soon as they walk into my room. This has always been a goal of mine because many of the students I teach have even more chaotic lives than wandering the halls with 1,000 other students on a daily basis. Can you imagine that?! My students need these items to make this classroom feel relaxing because, to many of them, this classroom is a place where they can come to escape the pressures of their everyday lives. I have seen up close the conflicts my students have to deal with within their own families. These conflicts are something that no adolescent should have to go through. Knowing all of the situations that my students are going through is what motivates me to create an environment where they can feel at ease and comfortable enough to do something for themselves for once: learn!
