During the coronavirus pandemic, the students have had to learn very quickly how to adapt to a new way of learning. I have six of 12 students that have not been able to grasp the full technology concept, but they were great at learning in a face-to-face setting. They and their family members are not well-versed with accessing assignments through computer technology, but if they had access to hard-copy and scanning opportunities we can keep them engaged. These multi-function printers will also allow a greater degree of independence for all of my students. "Someone said "...situations present opportunities...". These proposed mini-workstations do two things, they provide "real life" scenarios that further expose our students to vocational activities and they allow for more student engagement. Most of our students received and/or have devices like tablets, iPads, and desktops; but most don't have a fax, printer, and/or scanner to transmit work. In some cases, I have heard of teachers doing bulk mail-outs of assignments for students that cannot use technology. I can only imagine the cost associated with that. In this new era of learning is a thought of further advancement!
