Second Grade is an exciting, exhilarating, and energetic time in a child's life! My students come to school ready to learn every day, and are full of energy all day long. Just like adults, they get tired of sitting in traditional classroom chairs and deserve the opportunity to have flexibility in their seating choices. Research on flexible seating shows that students learn better, are more focused, and are more comfortable when they have the ability to bounce, wiggle, kneel, and move about throughout the day. This project will help me add comfy chairs to our classroom! With this project, you will be helping me provide seating options that fit every student, while giving them a better opportunity to be successful in Second Grade! These new seating options will replace the traditional classroom desks and chairs in our classroom. My students will have the chance to rotate their seating every week and find the flexible seating option that works best for them. When students are comfortable and engaged in learning, their achievement and success soar!
