BreakoutEDU offers students the incredible opportunity to develop character, social, team-building, and academic skills. My students need practice with these everyday skills so that they can learn functional life skills that will serve them well even past their high school days...critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication. This type of classroom activity is rewarding and motivating to my students who regularly struggle to experience “success” in the same way as their peers. The concept of BreakoutEDU is similar to "escape rooms”, where students have to work together to solve puzzles, uncover invisible ink, and decode clues related to the lesson in order to unlock locks and eventually BREAK OUT of the box! As a teacher, I want to help my students unlock their potential and help them to understand that each individual possesses different strengths that are a crucial part of being a team. I need two BreakoutEDU Kits with access to their digital platform to create learning experiences that target literacy, math, team-building, and functional life skill content and allow my students to work in smaller, more manageable groups.
