As students gain an understanding of human development in Psychology, they gain a better understanding of their own development from infancy through adulthood. They get the chance to simulate infant development through hands on learning as they take care of a simulated baby. They get to use their knowledge of psychology terms and theories through real world application. Students learn about approaches and history of psychology and developmental psychology is typically their favorite unit as they gain an understanding of who they are and how they came to be. This activity helps them dive deeper into their understanding. There​ are several tasks involved in taking care of the child including creating a photo album of them with their simulated baby engaging in real world experiences and activities they show deep processing of information.
