Flexible seating is critical for today's active learners! A variety of seating options provide students an opportunity to choose where/how they learn best. During independent work and reading sessions, my students are allowed to choose a work location throughout the room. Nearly all of my students choose to move from their desks in order to sit on the floor with a clipboard or use one of several "comfy" chairs in the classroom. Not only are my students more motivated when they have flexible seating opportunities, but the quality of their work and levels of engagement increase. The products I have selected will enhance the flexible seating options in my classroom and provide more students the opportunity to work somewhere other than a desk. The adjustable standing desk will provide a work space for those children who prefer to stand while they do their work. The floor desks will allow students to safely complete work on their Chromebooks while in alternative locations. The floor seats, which can easily be used in many areas of the classroom, will increase the number of comfortable floor seating options. Lastly, students who need to wiggle while at their desks, will benefit from using an exercise ball instead of the traditional chair. Choice and movement are critical for today's students. Additional flexible seating options will help my students learn and grow even more!
