This listening center will help my students learn how to read (turn the pages of) a book. By listening to different stories they will become familiar with sounds, words, language, and print. It will help them build their vocabulary and their imaginations. They will be able to learn about the world around them or be able to explore imaginary places. My students will be able to learn how to sit and listen to a whole story, and then be able to retell that same story to someone else, and share their love of reading and learning. Adding a listening center to our classroom will help my students develop their early literacy skills and hopefully help them to read successfully in the future.

About my class
