In my class, I have time set aside for my students called "Mindful Brain Breaks" which are data proven to help with focus and engagement in learning. These breaks allow for students to set away from work and relax some. When they are asked to return, their ability to perform in the class whether on tests, homework, or listening to instruction increases. Currently, I am doing yoga with my students and it has benefitted them with this relaxation before testing. The students scores have increased. Although, right now, we are not able to do all Yoga comfortably in the class as the students are doing it without mats. With that mats, we will be able to do more stretches and switch up the moves throughout these brain breaks. It will only allow the students to comfortably relax and further increase their engagement and focus for classroom learning.
