As most of us teachers have seen, when students come back from summer break they have not retained a portion of the knowledge they have learned. I want to send home book bags equipped with materials our at Risk students can use over the summer. I've been thinking of this project for some time now, and really hope I will be chosen so I can fulfill this for our students. I chose a nice quality book bag from Really Good Stuff to put all of the materials into. Each bag will have four story books, a double sided white board, dry erase marker and eraser, a list of their sight words and some other resources for them to use over the summer. Please consider helping our students out! I feel this will help our students to retain some of their skills over the summer and to return in the fall ready to rock 'n roll!
