My honors English 9 students have been begging to read one of Shakespeare's comedies since they have heard or seen the Romeo and Juliet plot many times before. Our curriculum requires that we read Romeo and Juliet; however, I told the students that we could also read A Midsummer Night's Dream. The problem is that we only have an except in our textbooks. Since this is an honors class, it is important that students are able to experience the play as a whole. The No-Fear Shakespeare version has a modern translation next to the original Elizabethan text, making it more accessible to teens.
