Donors were generous enough to donate sleeping bags to our campers. Having the tents will enable us to keep children safe and out of the elements during our camping experience. The excitement on their faces when I showed them pictures of different tents said it all. These students rarely get to experience life outside of school or their neighborhoods and most have never been camping before. During our camping trip, our students will have the opportunity to learn about different habitats around where we live. They have been learning about these habitats throughout the year. Students will also participate in a community clean up project and learn the basics on camping. This camping trip has increased their interest in subjects areas across the board. We will have various activities that include math, reading and writing during the trip.
