This iPad will help with multiple aspects of my fourth grade classroom. The first being mental health awareness and support. I will be able to access headspace for students who show signs of anxiety and stress in class due to the pandemic. This simple refocusing technique will help students feel a sense of calm and safety in the walls of their classroom. Another way this donation will help is with my positive behavior reinforcement plan. Students need a positive way to stay on track and continuous reminders of school and classroom expectations. Through various apps, my "scout" (teacher helper) can help give students feedback throughout the day. By including the Apple TV, the ipad will be able to link with my overhead projector. Third, having an iPad allows my students access to programs that help with fluency. Students who need extra supports in reading fluency can listen to audiobooks on Learning Ally that are only accessible on an iPad. These texts will help them comprehend texts that are at and above grade level content. These iPads will help these students master RL.4.10 and L.4.3. These examples don't even reach the surface of the ways this technology can benefit my students.
