Learning about the great American artist, Alexander Calder, will inspire my students to think outside the box when creating their own art work. Learning about weight distribution and balance while being creative, brings in the cross curriculum component that helps to round out he education the students will get from this lesson unit. I will provide my students with an overview presentation of Mr. Calder's revolutionary approach to making his renowned, innovative sculptures. The supplies purchased will serve to provide the students with all the materials needed to create their own mobiles. Exposing students of today, to different and exceptional art, will help to open their minds to new and exciting art. The paint brushes will provide necessary supplies for painting projects throughout the year.
