Dual Language students are required to follow state requirements. Because, English is my students' second language, they are required to participate in TELPAS, which tests them yearly on their growth in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In order to practice their listening and speaking the students need to be able to hear themselves speak. Headphones with a microphone will help them record themselves and go back and listen to themselves. Growth through language is so important in a dual language learner. The students test this way as well. My school only has one set of headphones with microphones that the whole bilingual community at my campus share, which makes it hard to use more often and more efficiently.
