I teach computer technology in a public high school located in the South Bronx, New York City. My students are predominantly black and Hispanic, all or most qualify for the school lunch program, a criteria which determines economic disadvantage. Informal survey of students indicates that large numbers of them do not have a computer at home and those having may not have access to the Internet. Preparing my students for the careers of tomorrow requires a viable technology program which includes not only hardware and software but also resources to provide an effective an ongoing maintenance program.

About my class
