My students have advanced to the National Competition for STAR Events in Anaheim, CA. I have 1 student that was elected as the State Vice President of Public Relations and I have 4 amazing students who have just recently won our state competition for STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition). This competition focuses on students projects that they chose on their own. The projects include; Sports Nutrition (creating an exercise and meal plan for a cross country runner) and Illustrated Talk on helmet safety. Each area is related to what the students are passionate about. While in attendance, students will learn strategies for developing leadership and will compete at the National Level in their individual categories. They will also be able to network with students from around the country, expanding their cultural and social awareness The National competition requires a certain dress code. My students need help covering the cost of their competitive fees and registration cost. These students are an inspiration to all other students in the school who aspire to reach the stars.
