The high school students that I teach are expecting to be entertained when they come to school. They are from low income families where education is not usually a priority. Some are fluent in using technology and traditional teaching methods are not always effective with them. I have added technology into part of my daily lessons to allow me to reach all of my students at their level. It also allows me to post tutorials, assignments, and any other resources for them to use anywhere they can get the internet. I teach both special needs students and gifted students, so technology is a must for differentiating to the broad range of student in my class. Unfortunately, the technology needed to help my students is not always available. We have some Chromebooks to loan but there is never enough. There are so many sites available for students to use as either enrichment or to help them catch up, but without the proper technology those resources can't be used. My students need hands on lessons using technology. These can be such a huge help in my math classroom.
