We can use LEGOs in our science, math, and block center to enhance materials already available to students. Students can use these materials to make patterns and shapes, while learning to count. These materials will help us by encouraging fine motor skills, creating team building activities, following 2-3 step directions, use of imaginations. As they progress, they will be able to do team and independent work to build communities, animal habitats, and many other options according to our monthly theme. We are currently learning about "nature all around us" and would love for students to be able to make their own environmental creations with LEGOs.
