Our students work each day learning and enhancing work skills that will follow them when they leave the public education system. The goal of our school-based enterprise is to prepare students to work with their families from home when they age out. Each day we teach skills like using a heat press, folding shirts, hanging shirts, sorting sizes, and packaging orders. Students can use these skills when they have graduated to have a business of their own continuing the use of their skills. This year, we developed a new design using the handwriting and drawing of various students throughout our school, ordered prints of that design, and our students pressed it onto shirts. This new printer will simplify our process because we do not have to order prints. In the past, we have had to wait for our prints to come in and cut them down to an appropriate size before pressing them onto shirts. The process becomes much simpler when we can print images ourselves.
