Informational text is a struggle for most students. First of all, they rarely read it unless it is a requirement and that is mostly done begrudgingly. By getting this book, my class will be exploring new ideas and concepts which are unfamiliar such as Ramadan and the Taliban. We will be able to touch on hot topics such as injustices and equality and government. This book will propel us into debates and discussions that will connect students with real-world issues, helping them to see the power of reading and being educated. Students research topics that interest them and prepare for class discussions, presentations, and projects, incorporating all they learn to support their viewpoints.
