As teachers, we have forced our students to sit in a factory style environment where they congregate in rows and follow a bell schedule. These environments are dreary and dismal. I want my classroom to have differentiated seating. I want their bodies and brains to be engaged. I want them to view my classroom as an extension of their homes. The students should be able to pick their seating. This comfortability will engage them in the learning process. They can move around the classroom and pick a different seating option to suit their needs. These seating options will also allow them to formulate groups and participate in student-centered learning activities. Please help me help my kids.
