I am a first-year teacher and completed my residency year learning from two knowledgeable host teachers. One takeaway I had during this time was to always be prepared. My lessons went more smoothly when I had all the materials I needed to differentiate instruction, be effective, and engaging. For the upcoming school year, I will be in a classroom by myself. I want to make sure that I hold myself to the high expectations set by my host teachers. I am requesting these resources and tools because they will be essential in my first classroom. Storage bins and pocket charts will make it easier to be an effective and engaging teacher. I want to make sure that my students have access to familiar materials such as chart paper, whiteboards, and markers as we begin to learn how to write informative essays and work on our foundational skills!
