My goal, as a Human Anatomy and Physiology Teacher, is to be able to take a disarticulated skeleton and have the students assemble it into an articulated one. To do this students will need to become familiar with all bones of the body with all the characteristics that set them apart as separate bones. I plan to start by taking small portions of the skeleton and getting them familiar with the details of each of those bones. From there, by using form and function applications, we will build a skeleton from scratch. The final goal is to completely lay out a fully disarticulated skeleton into articulated fashion. Since Anatomy and Physiology will be one of the high difficulty classes required for many medical fields, I am looking for ways to help simplify and motivate students to learn this material. By using these hands-on labs, I hope to bring meaning and depth to the knowledge required.
