My students are like sponges and soak up words! They are so excited to have new books and to share their books with their families. The children that I teach are still new to the English language so reading books is one of the best and quickest way for them to build vocabulary. These pouches will give my students a special and safe place to keep their books. The students will be able to transport their reading books home each night to practice with their parents or siblings, and they will return the pouches to me each day to be refilled with new books. This Donors Choose project will make it possible for each of my students to have a Take Home Literacy Pouch. At the end of the year, I will collect the pouches and use them again next year.
