By using Engineering is Elementary kits, my students will focus on meaningful, open-ended problems within a global context. With the Bubble Bonanza kit, my students will use each step of the Engineering Design Process as they become materials engineers to help create a stage show about bubbles for an amusement park. My students will learn more about the role engineering plays in their lives and in the world around them. They will be introduced to real engineering challenges and be asked to design solutions using the Engineering Design Process. I love the fact that all my students, regardless of ability level, will be able to contribute to this challenge! By incorporating science, technology, engineering, and math together, students in my class will be able to work collaboratively alongside their peers to solve real world problems.
