I am a Title I Special Educator with a Ph.D. in Education. My team and I work with students who may need occupational therapy, speech therapy, academic interventions, social skills training, and emotional support. My students are bright but society has neglected their needs and dimmed their hopes for success. They do not see themselves as smart, or capable, or talented now. My students don't dream about the future. They are simply trying to get through the day. We struggle to provide our scholars with the same rich opportunities and resources that suburban schools provide to theirs. Sadly, teachers at my school rely on the generosity of outside support to supplement and renew our limited resources. I speak for my team when I say that words cannot express the value of your contribution nor describe the level of impact on numerous students whose educational experience and future are better because of you!
