We are covering 20th Century Drama, and we've gone through Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller. Now I want to end the year on a more pleasant, whimsical note. Your donation will provide a class set of a play that we will read aloud - performing for each other - and discuss. What makes "Harvey" great is the fact that it's equally enjoyable as a piece of comedic fluff and as slyly intelligent social commentary. It's a piece the students can read and use to discuss social mores but equally a piece they can read and laugh with. So much of literature is serious and depressing. "Harvey" recalls more of Twain and his sharp wit.
