It really is amazing to see my students connect to book characters and be able to open up more about what may be their "problem." With these different topics I have a book to reach most if not all of my students to show them that what they are experiencing is okay and ways that we can work together to make it better. These topics range from identifying feelings, to death and grief, and a growth mindset. I use books during classroom lessons, small groups, and with individuals. When my students can connect to a character it changes them for the better because they realize that they are not alone and that they can work on the "problem." From this realization we are able to work on coping skills that work specifically for my students.
