The dry erase boards and markers are a staple in our class because we practice writing in cursive and spelling our concept words of the day on them. The chalk markers on black paper will make the letters of the words pop for them. We can even use specific colors to highlight different parts of the word like yellow for vowels or red for suffixes etc.. The spelling tile games and magnetic letters help my students get up and move around while manipulating the letters to spell complex words.
These multi-sensory school supplies will help light up all areas of the dyslexic brain by using their visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning approaches. The smelly stickers are a great reward for cursive letter practice and the smells add to the multi-sensory program. The scratch off rainbow paper again will be an engaging way for my students to spell words and identify letters to their sounds. The highlighted sentence strips help my students stay on the right line while reading aloud. The dyslexic brain sometimes will jump around the page and they will miss complete sentences. These reading guides will keep them on track.
The stop watches are used to challenge my students to increase their reading fluency. We practice daily reading fluency passages and the stop watches will help them keep track of their reading fluency progress. The remaining items are basic office supplies that I do not have access to but are in much need of.
Thank you so much for helping supply my classroom of amazing dyslexic students. They are our entrepreneurs and problem solvers for our future. These supplies will be much appreciated by them. Thank you!
